Board of Trustees
Independent,
Non-Sectarian, Committed to Serving All
Mount Pleasant Home is an independent non-profit
corporation, organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
in 1901 for the purpose of serving elders without regard to sectarian
identity.
We are governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of 15
volunteer members, organized into 3-year membership classes.

Board members provide:
 |
Extensive professional
and personal experience in senior care. |
 |
Volunteer time at Mount
Pleasant for special events as well as daily activities. |
 |
Expertise in financial
and business administration, community services, and issues related to
the elderly. |
The Board is responsible for the overall governing of
Mount Pleasant, such as:
 |
Providing guidance in the
services and programs we provide. |
 |
Reviewing and approving
the budget, cost of operations, and other business needs. |
 |
Envisioning the future
health of our facility. |
The Board's direction is put into practice through the
leadership of Executive Director, Merlin Southwick, who works with the
management team to effect the day to day operations of Mount Pleasant.
The Board of Trustees believes in and practices a model
of governing ruled by the highest ethical standards. Each member
regularly engages in exercises to sharpen awareness and commitment
to these principles.
