SquashBusters
SquashBusters is a unique group of young people of all ages who volunteer
to participate in intergenerational activities as part of a community
service program. Mount Pleasant has
been lucky enough to have these students over as often as possible.
You can see our residents playing Squash with
these students here.
Meaningful interactive programs are always planned. During one
visit, a thankfulness tree evolved from a group discussion
to personalize colorful leaves and use them to decorate a graceful bar
branch tree for all to see.
Making Valentines for all the residents was also an extensive, yet fun
project. Sharing messages from the heart made strong connections
with the youth.
A
great way to learn about one another is to talk about places where one has
lived or traveled. From this theme came a shared map project.
Now there is a colorful display of their efforts throughout the halls out
Mount Pleasant. What a nice way to discover common threads of
experience! |
