Feed the Birds

One of our residents has a true passion for learning about and taking care of birds.  Each day he goes out to refill the water and seed.  Together with several staff members, they work to keep the squirrels off the feeders.

It's a bigger task than one might think!

Students from the Winsor School came to Mount Pleasant to work alongside the residents on a birdfeeder-making project.  With lots of wood, hammers, and nails, this large group put them together and finished up by adding their own personal touches.  By the end, all were painted with bright colors and fun shapes.

Another "bird-oriented" event was set up for residents to make small bird feeders to hang outside.  It was messy and fun, but most importantly...

The birds (and squirrels) really appreciated Mount Pleasant's dedication to their survival!
