Mount Pleasant Home is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving
low-income elders in the Boston area.
Your tax-deductible donation goes towards the operating expenses of
running the home. We are asking for your help in support of our home
and our mission. You decide the amount that is right for you, but
consider these needs:
Meals and Service - Think about the cost of preparing,
cooking, and meals for over 40 residents daily! Add to that showering,
housekeeping, and laundry!
Health and Professional Care - We provide 24 hours of
nurturing, sensitive, hands-on assistance provided by our Personal Care
team with dignity and love to all who live here.
Phone Service - Keeping in touch with doctors and family
members of residents is critical to our work. Did you know that
we provide free long distance service to our residents?
Power - We use energy efficient light bulbs and buy
EnergyStar certified appliances to keep our costs as low as possible
and to protect the environment, but these costs still are monumental.
Activities - Keeping the minds and bodies of the elderly as
sharp as possible is key to our mission. We provide multiple
activities daily for everyone to participate in such as yoga, fitness,
art, crafts, music, movies, birthday parties, holiday celebrations,
etc. - all of which have costs associated.
Transportation - Gas, service, and insurance for the
Resident Van - Our residents enjoy so many opportunities to get out
and connect with Boston activities, such as bowling, Arboretum walks,
and shopping trips, to name a few.
